Ali Abucar Ali, 20, died from his injuries when
he was repeatedly stabbed after coming to the aid of 82-year-old Betty Walsh.
The retired barmaid was punched and knifed when she went to order a kebab supper near her home in Brentford, west London, on Friday night.
The mum-of-six is recovering in hospital after undergoing emergency kidney surgery. Her grateful family hailed brave Ali as a “hero” for stepping in save Betty at the cost of his own life.
Police say Norris Henry, 37, of Brentford, has been charged with Ali’s murder. He was also charged with the attempted murder of Betty.
