Manchester United Football club of England have been forced to call off their friendly against Preston North Ebd this weekend after a ‘Small number’ of the first team training group tested positive for Covid.
The positive test result came to light after the team players were tested at the training ground on Thursday, July 29, following the friendly against Brentford.
Man U were due to play Preston at Deepdale in saturday afternoon but the game has been called off due to Covid.
The group of team players who tested positive were “small” however we don’t know the exact number of players.
A statement from the club released Friday, July 30 reads:
“Maintaining COVID security is a priority for Manchester United. Following routine testing of the first-team training group (Thursday), we have identified a small number of suspected positive cases.
