Euro 2020: Belgium V Russia match report

The last game of the group B was played between Belgium and Russia in Saint Petersburg.

Belgium who currently sit as NO 1 in the world rankings proved why they are number one by asserting full dominance over a rather weakened Russia .

Lukaku opened the scoring in the 9th minute from a cross from Mertens. The goal makes it 43 goals for Lukaku in 44 goals under Roberto Martinez. After scoring Lukaku ran to the camera and screamed “Chris, I love you” as he dedicated his goal to his Inter Milan team mate Christian Eriksen.

Following a clash between Daler Kuzyaev and Timothy Castagne, both teams were forced to make a change 27th minute with Meunier replacing Castagne and Cheryshev replacing Kuzyaev. In the 34th minute , Meunier tapped in Belgium’s second after the Russian Goalkeeper’s initial save .

The second half seemed to be void of any action as both teams looked to cancel each other out. In the 88th minute Romelu Lukaku stepped up and scored the 3rd of the match and his second .
