Derby could still get relegated this season .

Derby managed a final day draw to avoid getting relegated but despite their dramatic survival, they could still get relegated this season.

Derby county face possible relegation after the EFL won its appeal to find the club in breach of Financial Fair Play rules.

The sanction is still to be determined, but we are told that anything from a fine to a points deduction is possible, and that could be applied to the current season or the next campaign.

Wycombe Wanderers, who finished third bottom, would be restored to the Championship were Derby to be hit with a points deduction. Wycombe chairman Rob Couhig, an American lawyer, has stated that he will ‘see what happens’ in the wake of the reports.

He said: “I don’t know that the season is over yet. To me, we have accumulated all the points we can and now we will see what happens.“People tell me that Derby County has some issues out there. “I don’t know whether we’re ready to go to lawyers yet.But the message is ‘watch this space’.”
