The state commissioner for science and Technology, Hakeem popoola Fahm, revealed that Lagos state has begun the installation of 2000 CCTV cameras across the state on May4, to commemorate the second year in office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu led administration.
Fahm disclosed that number of CCTV cameras installed is increasing day by day, but, already, 100 CCTV cameras had been installed in IKEA metropolis. The commissioner revealed that upon completion, Lagos would become a 24-hour driven commercial center, which would allow organizations and companies to operate in a safe and smart environment that would create more jobs and increase Gross domestic product of the state.
Apart from this, the commissioner reveald that Sanwo-olu’s administration had implemented a 3,000km of fiber metro network connection in year 2020.
He further explained that the implementation of Lagos state smart city project is to enable governance, Connectivity and Environmental security, adding that the use of technology would make reporting of security incidents easy to reach, and promote access to major sStakeholders in the government.
