The Academic Staff Union of Universities has warned the Federal Government to honour the agreement it had with the union before announcing the resumption date for universities after the Covid-19 pandemic.
It added that it would unfold its next agenda if the Federal Government refused to negotiate the 2009 agreement signed by both parties.
The Union President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, during a town meeting they had at the African Hall, the university of ilorin, refused to reveal the agenda.
He stated that the University went on strike in March due to the government’s insensitivity to University education.
“There is a deliberate attempt to kill university education in the country. Some universities use stoves in laboratories instead of burner and buckets to fetch water to perform experiments. It’s as bad as that,” he said.
